The consequences were that my stuff I had prepped for today's show was left at home, whereas I stayed downtown at my man, Dave's, place 'cause drinkin' and drivin' went out with James Dean. The Clash also appeared on the Grosse Pointe Blanke album that Strummer co-produced with John Cusack. The Violent Femmes also appeared on that soundrack while they were signed with Slash Records, a label they share with The Misfits who influenced practically every metal or punk band out there including My Chemical Romance who cited the Misfits as their primary inspiration.

May 15, 2007

Today's playlist and 6 degrees are as follows:

Hot Chip-Boy from School
Death from Above 1979-Do It
Erick von Erick and The Raving Psychos-Autobots on the Autobahn
The Gruesomes-You're not the Boss of Me
Hotshot Robot-Kiss My Chernobyl
Insurgent Inc-2=45
Trans Am-Exit Management Solution
Bloc Party-Luno
Broken Social Scene-Almost Crimes
Grimskunk-Wakin' and Bakin'
The Cancer Brides-Pipe Bomb
Superfantastics-As the Lights Go Down
Hidden Cameras-Ban Marriage
Metric-Dead Dance
Billy Bragg-New England
Joel Plaskett Emergency-Penny for your Thoughts
Arcade Fire-The Well & The Lights
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club-Berlin
The Burning Hell-Dance Dance Dance
The Ataris-Cardiff by the Sea
The Klaxons-Golden Skans
The Brains-Scream for Me

k...so here are how the 6 degrees work today...

Hot Chip are signed with DFA records in the US who brought a lawsuit on Death from Above 1979 over their band name...they played under Vice Records until August 3rd, 2006 when they announced their break up, the same day that Bloc Party, also under Vice, played their biggest concert ever at the Greek Theatre in LA with Broken Social Scene opening.
